Diy wreath

Ok, so I decided I wanted to learn to make a mesh wreath. The problem is, as usual, it was night time, I didn’t have the right materials, and of coarse, I wanted to do it right then. I found what I had laying around the house- a wire coat hanger, some gold christmas mesh, some pipe cleaners, and a halloween sign that I bought at the dollar tree several years ago that we never really use.

I stretched out the bottom part of the coat hanger and shaped it into a circle, leaving the hook on top. Then, I cut strips of mesh, rolled them up, folded them in half, and secured them to the coat hanger using pipe cleaners. I wanted to do a Halloween wreath, and wasn’t sure how to make the gold work. I decided to just add some pipe cleaners that i already had out. I curled them around a pencil and twisted them onto the hanger in between the strips of mesh. I then added the sign to the middle. I hung it up using the hook of the hanger.

If I’m being honest, I don’t love it. The mesh was terrible and kept fraying. I had to tie it on super tight to the hanger to keep the strips from flipping downward. I feel like I made it alot more difficult than it had to be by not being patient and waiting until I got the right materials, BUT, I learned alot during this process, so that hopefully, I don’t make the same mistakes when I actually spend money to make one. Plus… it was fun.
